RESOLUTION - Approving an amendment to the Truman Plaza Area Plan from light industrial to mixed-use community on about 22 acres generally located at 601 Hardesty Avenue.

WHEREAS, on January 5, 2021, the City Council by Resolution No. 110976 adopted the Truman Plaza Area Plan; and
WHEREAS, after further review it has been deemed appropriate to amend the Truman Plaza Area Plan as it affects the above-described property by changing the recommended land use from light industrial to mixed-use community; and
WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered this amendment to the Truman Plaza Area Plan on May 22, 2024; and
WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did, on May 22, 2024, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Truman Plaza Area Plan to the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section A. That the Truman Plaza Area Plan is hereby amended as to the proposed land use plan and map by changing the recommended land use from light industrial to mixed-use community for about 22 acres generally located at 601 Hardesty Avenue.
Section B. That the amendment to the Truman Area Plan is consistent and complies with the KC Spirit Playbook, adopted on April 20, 2023, by Resolution No. 230257, and is adopted as a supplement to the KC Spirit Playbook.
Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
