RESOLUTION - Expressing Council support for the 435 and Soccer Drive redevelopment.

WHEREAS, development has been proposed for the area of 435 and Soccer Drive; and
WHEREAS, the proposed development anticipates mix of single-family homes, townhomes, and multi-family residential units, retail and restaurant space, a hotel and potential conference facilities, office buildings, and entertainment and/or sports facilities; and
WHEREAS, Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 260363 is docketed to be heard by the Council on May 21, 2026;
WHEREAS, Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 260363 includes a recommendation for Tax Increment Financing, a request for contribution of EATS, and consideration of a Tax Contribution and Disbursement Agreement; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Council expresses its support for redevelopment for the area of 435 and Soccer Drive.
Section 2. That the Council expresses its intention to consider Ordinance No. 260363 at its Legislative Session on May 21, 2026.
