RESOLUTION - Honoring Mason Byrd on her 107th Birthday.

WHEREAS, Mason Byrd was born on August 26, 1919, and has been blessed with 107 remarkable years filled with faith, family, strength, wisdom, and love; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Byrd is the proud mother of eight children, including Donald Byrd, Thomas Byrd, Billy Byrd Sr., Otona Byrd, Willa Byrd, Julla Byrd, Paul Byrd Sr., and Richard Byrd; and
WHEREAS, her extraordinary family legacy continues through 28 grandchildren, more than 100 great-grandchildren, and more than 100 great-great-grandchildren, representing generations shaped by her care, guidance, and example; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Byrd continues to embrace life by swimming at the YMCA, reading, playing Words With Friends, spending time with her family, and bringing joy to those around her; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Byrd credits her longevity to living without unnecessary stress, eating healthy, remaining active, and surrounding herself with the family she loves; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Byrd is more than the matriarch of an extraordinary family. She is a living example of resilience, grace, and the enduring power of love; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize and celebrate Mason Byrd on the occasion of her 107th birthday; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Mason Byrd with the Mayor and Council’s best wishes for continued health, happiness, and love.
