RESOLUTION - Recognizing Sherri Adams as PRIMA's Public Risk Manager of the Year, commending her exceptional leadership, fiscal management and commitment to city-wide safety and risk management.

WHEREAS, the Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA) annually honors the Grand Master of Risk Management, its most prestigious award, recognizing exceptional leadership in managing public risk; and

WHEREAS, in Fiscal Year 2023-24, Sherri led efforts that returned a large sum of money from a long-held workers' compensation escrow account to the General Fund, renewed the cyber insurance with no premium increase, and kept the workers' compensation premium increase to only 9% despite a significant increase in payroll exposure, resulting in a combined $1,315,000.00 in savings; and

WHEREAS, her oversight contributed to a 21% reduction in claim frequency and a 12% drop in severity in FY23, as she introduced key strategies for improvements such as a new transitional duty program, expanded safety training, and interdepartmental collaboration; and

WHEREAS, she brought ADA, FMLA, and reasonable accommodation under the Risk Management umbrella to improve consistency and service delivery, and instituted thorough insurance reviews, contract provision updates, and citywide training, helping departments make informed risk decisions; and

WHEREAS, Sherri's dedication to excellent customer service and her "how can I help?" attitude have earned widespread praise and built a collaborative, solutions-focused culture within City Hall, as seen most recently in the successful execution of the first City Hall fire drill since COVID; NOW, THEREFORE,
