RESOLUTION - Recognizing the 2021-2023 and 2022-2024 Cookingham-Noll Fellows for the completion of the 2-year Cookingham-Noll Management Fellowship program.

WHEREAS, the Cookingham Management Fellowship program was founded over 80 years ago by then City Manager, L.P. Cookingham, to accomplish the goals of creating innovation, versatility, enthusiasm, and leadership in each wave of new public administrators in Kansas City and beyond; and
WHEREAS, the Cookingham Management Fellowship was renamed, Cookingham-Noll Management Fellowship, in 2011 in honor of the leadership and dedication of the late Richard Noll; and
WHEREAS, the Cookingham-Noll Fellowship follows a multidisciplinary approach to offer a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in local government and public administration; and
WHEREAS, the Cookingham-Noll Fellows must complete a year-long rotation across various City departments to gain a high-level understanding of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Cookingham-Noll Fellows gain exposure to a wide range of functions, including budgeting, planning, policy analysis, community engagement, and public service delivery; and
WHEREAS, the Cookingham-Noll Fellows complete a second year aimed to narrow their focus in departments that pique their skills and interest to create an impact; and
WHEREAS, the Cookingham-Noll Fellowship has produced and created a network of alumni in high-ranking positions in public and private organizations around the world, advancing local government and public administration; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That Mayor and Council hereby acknowledge and congratulate the 2021-2023 and 2022-2024 Cookingham-Noll Fellows, recognizing the hard work and time commitment of the current and former Fellows; and ...
