Approving the petition to add property to the Linwood Shopping Center Community Improvement District, generally located at the northwest corner of Prospect Avenue and Linwood Boulevard in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri; and directing the City Clerk to report the amendment of the District to the Missouri Department of Economic Development and the Missouri state auditor.

WHEREAS, via Ordinance No. 180778, City Council approved the original petition of the Linwood Shopping Center Community Improvement District ("District") and established the District; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 180778 determined the District was in a blighted area; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to RSMo., Section 67.1441.2 of the Missouri Community Improvement District Act ("Act"), a petition to add property to the District has been submitted ("Petition"); and
WHEREAS, the District's board of directors consents to approval of the Petition; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Petition to add property to the Linwood Shopping Center Community Improvement District in accordance with Section 67.1441.2 of the Missouri Community Improvement District Act, which is attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit 1, is hereby approved in its entirety.
Section 2. That the property to be added is hereby determined to be in a blighted area by reason of the predominance of insanitary or unsafe conditions, deterioration of site improvements or conditions which endanger life or property by fire or other cause, which individually or collectively constitute an economic liability or menace to the public health, safety, morals or welfare in its present condition and use.
