RESOLUTION - Recognizing Food Allergy Awareness Month and celebrating Just Like You Films and its latest project, May Contain: My Life.

WHEREAS, throughout May, National Food Allergy Awareness Month spreads awareness of food allergies and anaphylaxis; and
WHEREAS, this awareness month allows the country to join in the collective effort to keep the millions of individuals with food allergies across the United States safe, whether through minimizing exposure to allergens or improved emergency preparedness; and
WHEREAS, Just Like You Films is an Oscar-qualified, Mid-America Emmy Award-winning, Kansas City-based nonprofit dedicated to producing socially impactful films that foster empathy, inclusion, and understanding; and
WHEREAS, through real stories rooted in lived experience, the organization has reached audiences locally and globally, using film as a catalyst for meaningful conversation and change; and
WHEREAS, its growing streaming platform, JustLikeYouTV.org, brings compassion to kids, adults, and families, while its empathy engine translates storytelling into action across institutions, including schools, healthcare systems, workplaces, and community organizations; and
WHEREAS, its latest project, May Contain: My Life, brings urgent awareness to the realities of living with life-threatening food allergies, affecting an estimated 33 million Americans. The film combines powerful storytelling with real voices and experiences, helping audiences better understand the daily vigilance, challenges, and resilience of individuals and families navigating this condition; and
WHEREAS, May Contain: My Life will be released in 230 AMC Theatres nationwide, bringing this important story to audiences across the country during a one-week theatrical run from May 22-29; NOW, THEREFORE,
