RESOLUTION - Thanking Alfred Winder for his dedication and services to the community.

WHEREAS, Mr. Winder graduated from Rockhurst University in 1996 and launched into his career in transportation in his role as Manager of Minority Business and Equal Opportunity for the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority. He was recognized both locally and nationally for providing job opportunities and small business contracting; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Winder has been celebrated in his work as a professional contract manager in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and across the United States, receiving international acclaim for his accomplishments and abilities; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Winder is a decorated U.S. Army veteran who served as a member of the U.S. All-Army basketball team; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Winder's dedication to improving and serving Kansas City has left an indelible mark on our community. Mr. Winder champions digital equity across the metro through Winder & Associates. Winder & Associates has partnered with KCDigitalDrive to provide community-based support for digital equity-focused initiatives. Additionally, they have collaborated with the Digital Equity Office regarding neighborhood engagement. Further, they have provided mentorship for Electrical Vehicle Equity Access for Municipal Fleet Technology through their partnership with the UMKC Law Department; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Winder continues his commitment to the betterment of Kansas City as he works to ensure technology is accessible to all members of our community in order to foster digital equity and opportunity. Winder & Associates' creation of workforce development of Digital Navigators within the metro, as well as the promotion of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) outreach, digital inclusion, and support to increase participation in most underserved communities, all contribute to his legacy of service...
