WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City Aviation Department submitted to the FAA a project application dated April 25, 2025, for a grant of Federal AIP funds for a project at the Kansas City International Airport and anticipates that $7,185,274.00 will be offered in grant 3-29-0040-101-2025; and

WHERAS, the City of Kansas City through Ordinance No. 250016 estimated revenue, appropriated funds from Unappropriated Fund Balance and authorized contract with Ideker, Inc. for the 1L-19R High Speed Connectors Phase 2 project at Kansas City International Airport; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of the Aviation Department, or her designee, is authorized to accept a $7,185,274.00 grant from the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Grant Offer from the United States of America, acting through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the purpose of the purpose of providing funds for the reconstruction of Runway 1L/19R Taxiway High Speed Connectors A1, A2, A3, A4, A6, A8, A10, A12, A13, A14, Taxiway A east shoulder, Runway 1L-19R east shoulder, storm drainage system modification/replacement, installation of elevated taxiway edge lights, taxiway centerline lights, airfield signage, and pavement markings - Phase 3 Construction - 20% of the project.
