RESOLUTION - Recognizing and congratulating the Faith Christian Academy Men's Baseball Team for an outstanding 2025-2026 season.

WHEREAS, the Faith Christian Academy Knights have demonstrated exceptional talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout their baseball season; and
WHEREAS, under the leadership of Head Coach Luke Cassis and the dedicated coaching staff, Ben McMillen, Ben Blanton, and Jimmy Standlea, the team has represented Faith Christian Academy and their community with distinction and pride; and
WHEREAS, the team achieved a remarkable season record of 30-5, including winning the district championship game (12-0), the sectional (9-4), the quarterfinal (4-2), and semifinal (6-0). They went on to avenge their former at Ozark Mountain Sports Complex on June 1st by defeating Portageville (5-4) to become Class 2 State Champions; and
WHEREAS, the Faith Christian Academy starting players included Rhett Lehr (catcher), Max McMillen (1st base/pitcher), Jett York (2nd base/pitcher), Sam Akins (pitcher), Jack McMillen (1st base), Chase Newton (shortstop), Parker Blanton (3rd base), Even Shmidt (left field), Caed Gibler (center field), and Justus Standlea (right field). These student-athletes have shown dedication not only on the field but also in their academics and service to the community; and
WHEREAS, Faith Christian Academy is located in the City of Kansas City, Missouri. This is Faith Christian Academy's first State Championship title in any sport, with only their second year as a MSHSAA full member school. It is an honor to recognize the triumph and success of this teams' accomplishments this baseball season; and
WHEREAS, their success reflects hard work, perseverance, and the unwavering support of their families, school staff, and their community; NOW, THEREFORE,
