Authorizing a $300,000.00 professional services contract with Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, LLP, to review the implementation of the City's Equal Employment Opportunity Discrimination/Harassment Policy within the Kansas City Fire Department and to provide other legal services; reducing appropriations in the Contingent Appropriation of the General Fund by $300,000.00; appropriating that amount from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the Outside Attorney Consulting account in the General Fund; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the City Attorney is authorized to execute a $300,000.00 professional services contract with Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, LLP, law firm to review the implementation of the City's Equal Employment Opportunity Discrimination/Harassment Policy within the Kansas City Fire Department and to provide other legal services.
Section 2. That the appropriation in the following account is reduced by the following amount:
22- 1000-179990-B Contingent Appropriation $300,000.00
Section 3. That the sum of $300,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the following account in the General Fund:
22-1000-131506-B Outside Attorney Consulting $300,000.00
Section 4. That this ordinance is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(C) of the City Charter in that it appropriates money and shall take effect in accordance with that section.
