Authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute a Franchise Agreement with Google Fiber, Missouri, LLC granting a non-exclusive 10-year franchise to operate a fiber optic network within the territory of the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 110390, authorized an agreement with Google Fiber, Missouri, LLC to provide high-speed Internet access to Kansas City, Missouri and its inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, Google Fiber, Missouri, LLC has requested a franchise authorizing it to continue to provide fiber optic internet service; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director Public Works is authorized to execute the Franchise Agreement with Google Fiber, Missouri, LLC, granting a non-exclusive 10-year franchise to operate a fiber optic network within territory of the City of Kansas City, Missouri. A copy of the Franchise Agreement in substantial form is on file in the office of the Director of Public Works.
