RESOLUTION - Designating the City's share of Platte County's special road and bridge tax receipts for calendar years 2020, 2021, and 2022 to be allocated to North Coventry between N.W. 68th Street and N.W. 76th Street per RSMo 137.556; and directing the City Manager to transmit this resolution to Platte County.

WHEREAS, the City Council desires to use the City of Kansas City's share of Platte County's special road and bridge tax receipts to fund construction projects of mutual benefit to the City of Kansas City and Platte County; and
WHEREAS, RSMo 137.556 states that "The city council or other governing body of the city, town or village shall designate the roads, streets and bridges to be repaired and improved and shall specify the kinds and types of materials to be used"; and
WHEREAS, previous Platte County special road and bridge tax receipts have been used successfully on improvements to Barry Road at I-29, N.W. 72nd Street between Route 9 and I-29 serving Plaza Middle School, N.W. 64th Street at I-29, and North Green Hills Road between N.W. 78th Street and N.W. Barry Road; and
WHEREAS, North Coventry is an unimproved and narrow road lacking sidewalks, curbs, and streetlights which serves the recently opened Park Hill High School LEAD Center which is the third high school in the district and the school district is completing improvements to a portion of North Coventry; and
WHEREAS, funds from Platte County for calendar year 2020 collected were $1,049,000.82, funds from Platte County for calendar year 2021 collected were $989,676.89, funds for calendar year 2022 are estimated to be $1,000,000.00 all of which can be used for improvements to North Coventry between N.W. 68th Street and N.W. 76th Street; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
