RESOLUTION - Stating the City Council's support for the submission to voters of Platte County the question of renewal of the County's 3/8th cent road sales tax, stating the City's priority projects for any such renewal, and directing the City Clerk to send a copy of this resolution to the Commission of Platte County, Missouri.

WHEREAS, on April 8, 2003, the voters of Platte County approved a county wide sales tax (the "Tax") for 10 years for the purpose of financing transportation related projects, including, but not limited to, roads, bridges, drainage structures and sidewalks; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 041197, approved on November 4, 2004, authorized the execution of a Cooperative Agreement with Platte County, Missouri for County construction projects on City roadways from 2003 to 2012; and

WHEREAS, the County used the initial term of the Tax to improve Green Hills Road between Route 152 and Barry Road, N Congress adjacent to the Park Hill High and Congress Middle Schools, Barry Road from Amity to Chariton, N. Congress between I-29 and Route 152, and the Barry Road and I-29 interchange; and

WHEREAS, due to the successful completion of these projects, on April 2, 2013, the voters of Platte County renewed the Tax for 10 years for the purpose of financing transportation-related projects, including but not limited to roads, bridges, drainage structures, and sidewalks; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 160514, approved on July 12, 2016, authorized the execution of a Cooperative Agreement with Platte County, Missouri for County construction projects on City roadways from 2013 to 2022; and

WHEREAS, the County used the first renewal of the Tax to improve Barry Road from Potomac Drive to N. Chariton Avenue, Northwood Road, Green Hills Road between Barry Road and N.W. 72nd Street, N.W. 72nd Street between I-29 and Overland, N.W. Prairie View Road at N.W. 64th Street, Waukomis Drive between Englewood ...
