WHEREAS, John Dillingham, a recipient of the Outstanding Kansas Citian Award as well as the Outstanding Missourian Award, has served diligently in many sectors of business, including the Clay County Industrial Development Council, KC Municipal Assistance Corporation, KCI Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce, Kansas City Parks and Recreation Board, and the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners; and

WHEREAS, John Dillingham has also been heavily involved in community service, contributing to education, organizations like the Heart of America Boy Scouts, Metropolitan Community College, as well as the Salvation Army, the Liberty Memorial Association, and the Native Sons and Daughters of Greater KC. He is currently the President of JoDill Inc. and Dillingham Enterprises, known for its rich history in Kansas City for the Kansas City Stockyards, who eventually donated the land for the American Royal and Kemper Arena; and

WHEREAS, Anita Gorman, a member of the Missouri Parks and Recreation Hall of Fame and a recipient of The Outstanding Kansas Citian Award, is known for her work in conservation and philanthropy in organizations such as the Kansas City Board of Parks and Recreation, the Citizens Association of Kansas City's Board of Governors, Conservation of Heritage Foundation, Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and Affiliated Trusts, Salvation Army, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Liberty Memorial Association; and

WHEREAS, Anita Gorman has made history by being the first woman appointed to the Kansas City Board of Parks and Recreation, and the first woman elected to the Citizens Association of Kansas City's Board of Governors.
