Recognizing the great work and accomplishment of Pink Lipps Cosmetics.

WHEREAS, Pink Lipps Cosmetics, also known as Pink Lipps, is a WMBE cosmetic brand owned and operated by Kenyata Starr Gant, founded in 2011 in Kansas City, Missouri; and
WHEREAS, Pink Lipps takes pride in providing and creating Vegan, Paraben and Gluten Free sustainable cosmetics that not only empower women to feel confident but, provides a healthier solution to beauty; and
WHEREAS, Pink Lipps Cosmetics was inspired by Kobe Star, daughter of Pink Lipps founder and owner Kenyata Gant; and
WHEREAS, Pink Lipps' mission is to encourage women to feel good about themselves and to be the best they can be; and
WHEREAS, Kenyata strongly believes in giving back to her community. In 2016, she opened The Pink Lipps Cosmetics Store where she mentors upcoming entrepreneurs, teaching them how to operate a successful business; and
WHEREAS, Pink Lipps believes that business owners should work together to promote entrepreneurship in the community so that aspiring youth can have the opportunity to learn the importance of ownership; and
WHEREAS, "Girls, be your own Star" is Pink Lipp's slogan, which encourages women and girls to be their authentic selves every day; and
WHEREAS, Pink Lipps' values are "Passion and inclusivity." Pink Lipps believes that every service should be given with passion and should embrace every skin tone, race, and gender; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby extend their thanks and appreciation to Kenyata Gant and her entire professional team for being advocates of inclusivity in the cosmetics industry; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof...
