Authorizing amendment number four for $219,500.00 to an agreement with Bartlett & West for design services in the inspection of city sidewalks for a total contract amount of $1,223,254.00.

WHEREAS, on August 10, 2017, the Council expressed support in a data-driven systematic sidewalk program to prioritize sidewalk inspections and repairs through Committee Substitute for Resolution 170516; and

 

WHEREAS, on June 20, 2019, the Council approved Ordinance No. 190476, a design services contract with Bartlett & West in the amount of $540,100.00 for the project; and

 

WHEREAS, on October 15, 2020, the Council approved an amendment Ordinance No. 200851, a design services contract with Bartlett & West in the amount of $199,854.00 for the project; and

 

WHEREAS, on October 28, 2021, the Council approved an amendment Ordinance No. 210930, a design services contract with Bartlett & West in the amount of $199,800.00 for the project; NOW THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Bartlett & West for design services in the inspection of various sidewalks, generally between North City Limits to 20th Street, in the amount of $219,500.00 with a total contract price of $1,223,254.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. AL-3523-898077 -B-89022011.  A copy of the amendment is on file in the office of the Director of Public Works.

 

Section 2. That the Civil Rights Equal Opportunity Department to assure fair representation by socially and economically disadvantaged groups, approved for this project, a thirteen (13) percent representation by Minority Owned Businesses and eight (8) percent representation by Women Owned Businesses.
