RESOLUTION - Honoring the life of Carl J. DiCapo.

WHEREAS, a lifelong Kansas Citian, Carl J. DiCapo, was born to Jack and Kelly (Bivona) DiCapo on November 7, 1927, in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was raised with his sisters in the "Heart of America"; and

WHEREAS, Carl J. DiCapo had a well-rounded career, including time at the Internal Revenue Service, a forty-five-year tenure at The Italian Gardens restaurant, and retirement filled with philanthropy and dedication to Kansas City; and

WHEREAS, in 1954, Carl DiCapo married the love of his life and bride of nearly seventy years, Anita "Sugie" Donnici, and they joined life's great adventure of growing a large family together; and

WHEREAS, Carl DiCapo was an immensely generous man and spent all of his spare time giving back to the Kansas City community including leadership positions at UNICO National, Don Bosco Community Center, Conventions and Visitors Bureau, the Kansas City Bicentennial Committee, Land Clearance Commission, the Parkland Medical Center Board, the University of Missouri Advisory Board, the Private Industry Council, Barney Allis Board and Christmas Committee, Liberty Memorial, Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission, Corinthian Hall, Sister City Commission, Rotary Club #15, the Toys for Tots Committee, Skills USA, Jazz Orchestra, the Agriculture Hall of Fame Board of Tourism, Native Sons and Daughters, and Cleveland University Board of Trustees; and

WHEREAS, philanthropist Carl DiCapo has received numerous honors such as the Joseph P. Cianci Humanitarian Award, Spirit of Life Award, Air Force Sergeant Commendation Award, Gillis Home Award, VFW Post Service Award, Sons of the Revolution Patriot of the Year, Project Aim Campfire Girl Scouts of the Heartland Award, Rotary Club #13 Outstanding Award, William Booth Award of Missouri, Junior College Alumni Award, Hospitality Leadership Award, The...
