Authorizing the acceptance of a $10,000.00 grant from the Hartford’s Fire Safety Grant Junior Fire Marshal Program; estimating revenue in the amount of $10,000.00 in the Fire Sales Tax - Operation Fund; and appropriating $10,000.00 to the Hartford Junior Fire Marshal Program in the Fire Sales Tax - Operation Fund.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Fire Chief is hereby authorized to accept a grant from the Hartford’s Fire Safety Grant in the amount of $10,000.00 for the fire safety and prevention curriculum to educate our young children and students within the community about fire safety and prevention to which they will become Junior Fire Marshals. A copy of the award agreement in substantial form is on file with the Fire Marshals Office.
Section. 2. That revenue in the following account of the Fire Sales Tax - Operation Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:

Section 3. That the sum of $10,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Fire Sales Tax - Operation Fund in the following account of the Fire Sales Tax - Operation Fund:
24-2300-231340-B-23Hartford Hartford Fire Safety &
Prevention $10,000.00
Section 4. That the Fire Chief is authorized to expend $10,000.00 from funds appropriated to Account No. 24-2300-231340-B per the awarded Hartford Fire Safety Grant Junior Fire Marshal Program grant.
Section 5. That the Fire Chief is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 24-2300-231340 and is authorized to expend the sum of $10,000.00 from fund heretofore appropriated to the account.
