Authorizing two amendments in the amounts of $1,460,678.00 and $299,005.00 with HDR Engineering, Inc., for design professional services for the Kansas City Streetcar Main Street Extension project for a total contract amount of $19,243,423.00; authorizing an amendment in the amount of $1,499,242.00 with AtkinsRéalis USA Inc. (formerly Atkins North America, Inc.) for streetcar vehicle design engineering and production oversight consultant services for the Kansas City Streetcar Main Street Extension Project for a total contract amount of $ 5,287,208.87; authorizing an amendment in the amount of $274,481.00 with Alfred Benesch & Company for Resident Engineer/Construction Administration Services for the Kansas City Street Main Street Extension project for a total contract amount of $13,196,197.00; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute Amendment No. 4 with HDR Engineering, Inc. for additional design professional services for Project No. 89022014 Kansas City Streetcar Main Street Extension in the amount of $1,460,678.00, for a total contract amount of $18,944,418.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. AL-3449-898990-B-89022014 in the amount of $737,788.46 and AL-3449-895990-B-89022014 in the amount of $722,889.54. A copy of the amendment is on file in the Public Works Department.
Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute Amendment No. 5 with HDR Engineering, Inc. for additional design professional services for Project No. 89022014 Kansas City Streetcar Main Street Extension in the amount of $299,005.00 for a total contract amount of $19,243,423.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. AL-3449-898989-B-89022014 in the amount of $299,005.00. A copy of the amendment is on file in the Public Works Department.
Section 3. That the Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity Department, to assure fair representation by socially and economically disadvantaged groups, approved for these amendments 16.61% Disadvantage Business Enterprise representation for HDR Engineering, Inc.
Section 4. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute Amendment No. 3 with AtkinsRéalis USA Inc. (formerly Atkins North America, Inc.) for streetcar vehicle design engineering and production oversight consultant services, including inspection services, for Project No. 89022014-002 - Kansas City Streetcar Main Street Extension in the amount of $1,499,242.00 for a total contract amount of $ 5,287,208.87, from funds previously appropriated to Account Nos. AL-3449-898990-B-89022014 in the amount of $692,614.33, AL-3449-895990-B-89022014 in the amount of $678,627.67 and AL-3449-898989-B-89022014 in the amount of $128,000.00. A copy of the amendment is on file in the Public Works Department.
Section 5. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute Amendment No. 3 with Alfred Benesch & Company for additional Resident Engineer/Construction Administration Services for Project No. 89022014 Kansas City Streetcar Main Street Extension in the amount of $274,481.00, for a total contract amount of $13,196,197.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. AL-3449-898989-B-89022014 in the amount of $274,481.00. A copy of the amendment is on file in the Public Works Department.
Section 6. That the Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity Department, to assure fair representation by socially and economically disadvantaged groups, approved for this amendment 20.07% Disadvantage Business Enterprise representation for Alfred Benesch & Company.
Section 7. That, notwithstanding any provision in the contracts to the contrary, the amendments to the design professional agreements authorized by this ordinance must comply with all Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements, rules, and regulations which are incorporated as applicable into the contracts by reference.
Section 8. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with that section.
