Authorizing a $250,000.00 design professional services contract Amendment No. 2 with Lamp Rynearson, Inc., for the Upper Rush Creek and Weatherby Lake No. 2 Pump Stations project; authorizing an extension of the term of Contract No. 1144 for an additional 1,307.5 days (approximately 3.58 years) for a total term of 3,492 (approximately 9.56 years) for a total contract amount of $1,300,000.00; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

WHEREAS, City Council passed Ordinance No. 150373 on May 21, 2015, authorizing a $1,050,000.00 design professional services contract with Lamp Rynearson, Inc., for the Upper Rush Creek and Weatherby Lake No. 2 Pump Stations project; and

 

WHEREAS, the City executed a no-cost Amendment No. 1 on November 9, 2023, authorizing monies that was not used in the original contract for the Upper Rush Creek and Weatherby Lake No. 2 Pump Stations project; and

 

                     WHEREAS, this ordinance is for a $250,000.00 Amendment No. 2 for design, bidding, and project closeout services and a time extension beyond the six years allotted by the City’s Code of Ordinances for the Upper Rush Creek and Weatherby Lake No. 2 Pump Stations project; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services Department is authorized to execute Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. 1144 in the amount of $250,000.00, for a total contract amount of $1,300,000.00, with Lamp Rynearson, Inc., for the Upper Rush Creek and Weatherby Lake No. 2 Pump Stations project, Project No. 81000623.  A copy of this amendment is on file in the office of Water Services.

 

Section 2. That the Director of the Water Services Department is authorized a maximum expenditure of $250,000.00 from Account No. 24-8110-807777-611040-81000623, Sewer Pump Station, to satisfy the cost of this amendment.

 

Section 3. That the Director of Water Services is authorized to extend the term of Contract No. 1144, with Lamp Rynearson, Inc., for an additional 1,307.5 days (approximately 3.58 years) for a total term of 3,492 (approximately 9.56 years) for a total contract amount of $1,300,000.00.

 

Section 4. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance, or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.
