Accepting and approving a $1,581,818.00 grant award amendment with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to provide funding for HIV case management services in Kansas City, Missouri; estimating and appropriating the additional sum of $26,379.00, not previously appropriated, in the Health Grants Fund; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

WHEREAS, Ryan White Part B funding will help ensure that all residents with HIV within the Kansas City Transitional Grant Area (KC-TGA) have access to medical care and support services; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That a grant award amendment in the amount of $1,581,818.00 between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, whereby the State will provide funding for HIV case management services throughout the Kansas City, Missouri area for the period beginning April 1, 2024 through March 31, 2025, for a total award amount not to exceed $1,581,818.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part by reference.
Section 2. That additional revenue in the following account of the Health Grants Fund is hereby estimated in the following amounts:
24-2480-500001-474350-G50242227 HIV Case Mgmt $26,379.00
Section 3. That the additional sum of $26,379.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Health Grants Fund in the following account:
24-2480-505404-A-G50242227 HIV Case Mgmt $26,379.00
Section 4. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $1,581,818.00 from funds appropriated to Account No. 24-2480-505404-G50242227 for the contract.
Section 5. That this ordinance is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(C) of the City Charter in that it appropriates money, and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
