Approving an area plan amendment to the KCIA Area Plan from residential low density to residential medium density on about 42 acres generally located on the south side of N.W. 100th Street approximately 1300 feet east of Green Hills Road. (CD-CPC-2024-00007)

WHEREAS, in June18, 2009 the City Council by Resolution No. 090395 adopted the KCIA Area Plan; and

 

WHEREAS, after further review it has been deemed appropriate to amend the KCIA Area Plan as it affects the above-described property by changing the recommended land use from residential low density to residential medium density; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered this amendment to the KCIA Area Plan on April 2, 2024; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did, on April 2, 2024, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to KCIA Area Plan to the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A.  That the KCIA Area Plan is hereby amended as to the by changing the recommended land uses and map from for that area described above from residential low density to residential medium density.

 

Section B.  That the amendment to the KCIA Area Plan is consistent and complies with the KC Spirit Playbook, adopted on April 20, 2023, by Resolution No. 230257, and is adopted as a supplement to the KC Spirit Playbook.

 

Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
