RESOLUTION - Approving an amendment to the Blue Ridge Area Plan on about 26 acres generally located at 8200 E. 63rd Trafficway by changing the recommended land use from commercial and conservation to light industrial for the 8200 E. 63rd Industrial project. (CD-CPC-2026-00081)

WHEREAS, on June 15, 2017, the City Council by Resolution No. 170434 adopted the Blue Ridge Area Plan; and
WHEREAS, after further review it has been deemed appropriate to amend the Blue Ridge Area Plan as it affects the area of approximately 26 acres generally located at 8200 E. 63rd Trafficway by changing the recommended land use from commercial and conservation to light industrial; and
WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered this amendment to the Blue Ridge Area Plan on August 5, 2026; and
WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did, on August 5, 2026, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Blue Ridge Area Plan to the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section A. That the Area Plan is hereby amended for that area described above by changing the recommended land use from commercial and conservation to light industrial.
Section B. That the amendment to the Blue Ridge Area Plan is consistent and complies with the KC Spirit Playbook, adopted on April 20, 2023 by Resolution No. 230257, and is adopted as a supplement to the KC Spirit Playbook.
Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
