WHEREAS, on May 2, 2024, Resolution 240435 passed expressing City Council's intent to provide a 20% match if the City receives the USDOT Safe Roads and Streets for All Grant;

WHEREAS, the City was awarded a $10,000,000.00 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation as part of the Safe Streets and Roads for All grant, award number JY2DYJXPQW56;

WHEREAS, the City is hereby appropriating $2,500,000.00 in Vision Zero program for the local grant match requirements; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to accept the Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant (JY2DYJXPQW56) from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the purpose of engineering design and construction activities for $10,000,000.00 in the Prospect Ave Safety Improvements project. A copy of the Grant Agreement is on file in the Department of Public Works and is incorporated herein by reference.

Section 2. That revenue in the following account of the Capital Improvements Grant Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:

25-3091-895113-474630-89004950 Prospect Imp - Linwood to Cleave $10,000,000.00

Section 3. That the sum of $10,000,000 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Capital Improvements Grant Fund to the following account:
